Kick Boxing is one of the sports that comes to mind when it comes to defense sports. In this sport, which is a combination of punches, kicks, knees and limited clinches, only two things speak: Güç ve tecrübe.

Kick Boxing, which can be applied as a full contact combat sport as well as an exercise system, is thought to be based on Thailand, although its history is not known clearly.

Specializing in this defense sport, in which gloves, helmets and mouth guards must be used because it includes kicking and punching techniques, is to get the right training and learn to use power by acting in accordance with the rules.

Every game has a rule. The ring rules of Kick Boxing, which is integrated with its rules, are as follows:

  • First of all, fighters must be in the same weight category to ensure fair fighting.
  • The fight begins when two fighters in the same weight category touch the glove after listening to the referee's instructions.
  • There is a 1-minute break between rounds that usually last 3 minutes.
  • The aim of the rounds is to knock out your opponent using punches and kicks. If this is not successful, the winner of the match is determined by the points obtained as a result of the referee's decision.
  • If two athletes have the same score, the match will end in a draw.

Kick Boxing, which is divided into different branches due to its technical and application area, is known for having 7 branches in total. 3 of these 7 branches are called tatami. Tatemi branches, on the other hand, are made on floor mats between 6×6 or 8×8 dimensions. The branches of Kick Boxing are as follows;

Kick Boxing Belts

In fact, in Kick Boxing, which does not have a belt or belt on its basis, a transition to belt application has been made since the regulation was published. After the Kick Boxing belt exams held every 3 months, the results were started to be delivered via the computer system with the belt notification to the Turkish Kick Boxing Federation. However, it should be noted that in Kick Boxing, it is necessary to qualify for the next exam after the required exam in order to pass between generations and move up to the next generation.

After each exam, a 3-month waiting period is required to take the next exam. In the next period, the only goal of the athletes is to tie the dark brown belt around their waist… Belts evaluated in 7 degrees in the process after starting Kick Boxing are listed as follows;

Kick Boxing in Turkey

Kick Boxers know very well that the federation of sports in Turkey was not easy. Kick Boxing story in Turkey, which started with unofficial lessons in some halls since 1980, started its activities in 1994 with Semi Contact, Light Contact and Full Contact branches under the Presidency of Turkish Boxing Federation. In the same year, the first Turkish Boxing Championship was held in Ankara Atatürk Sports Hall with great participation, while the Turkish National Team participated for the first time in the European Kick Boxing Championship held in Graz, Austria in 1996 by IAKSA.

In Kick Boxing, where great success has been achieved both nationally and internationally, we now have more than 190 thousand licensed athletes.
